WE ARE INVESTING IN COMMUNITIES AND POSITIVELY IMPACTING LIVES
SEE OUR IMPACT
WE’VE IMPACTED MORE THAN 50 WOMEN EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS THROUGH OUR PILOT PROGRAM
THE ONE HEART PROJECT PILOT
The One Heart Project served as a pilot program for Noble Uprising. The project taught homeless women in Montgomery Avenue Women's Center job readiness skills and provided the women with career development resources. To celebrate the graduates and their accomplishments, the project held an award ceremony where the Office of Senator Chris Van Hollen awarded the project with a congressional citation. The Project was sponsored by the Walmart Foundation and supported by local business leaders in Montgomery County.
The One Heart Project Impact
In our pilot program, we provided over 50 individuals with free food, hygiene supplies, and other supporting resources.
More than 20 women attended at least two workshops
9 Individuals excelled in our workshops and attended the graduation ceremony with Senator Chris Van Hollen's office
Out of the 9 graduates, two were provided financial aid back to school and 2 others with volunteer work opportunities
We are passionate about solving poverty and homelessness. The sole mission of Noble Uprising is to provide our clients with secure employment. We do so by first securing partnerships with local businesses who believe in the power of investing in their communities. These business are community champions who are willing to hire our clients upon the completion of the Noble Up training program. We tailor our curriculum based on the qualifications and requirements that our partners seek from potential employees. Through these processes, we are bridging the gaps between education, opportunity, and employment for our clients.
Sonji Realizes her Strength and Discovers Her Passion
"After unforeseen circumstances that led me to the shelter, The One Heart Project was a source of hope and positivity in my really jacked up situation. Due to my interactions with genuine individuals who hoped the best for me, it gave me motivation to want the best for myself."
- Sonji Johnson, One Heart Project Graduate
Sonji is now working with our Noble Uprising team as a consultant for incoming homeless clients.
